California mail truck fire

HEMET, CA — Around 2:52 PM Friday afternoon, CAL FIRE crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire on San Jacinto Street between Johnson Ave. and Stetson Ave.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered a United States Postal Service mail truck fully engulfed in flames in the roadway.
The mail carrier was able to escape safely, and no injuries have been reported.
However, the fiery incident may mean some residents in the area won’t be receiving their expected mail today, as portions of the mail being transported appear to have gone up in flames with the vehicle.
Firefighters quickly worked to knock down the blaze while authorities began looking into what may have caused the fire.
