USPS delivery vehicle catches fire, damaging some mail

ARDEN, N.C. (WLOS) — A U.S. Postal Service (USPS) delivery vehicle caught fire in Arden Thursday, June 25, 2026, resulting in some undeliverable mail.

A USPS representative said the mail carrier was delivering mail when the fire happened. USPS said the carrier followed safety procedures and that there were no injuries.

However, some of the mail is now undeliverable because of fire and water damage. USPS said it is working to contact impacted customers.
