The call came in at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, to a report of a vehicle fire on Varna Lane in Carmel, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
When crews arrived, they found an active fire involving a USPS mail truck, firefighters said. Crews stretched two hose lines and were able to contain and put out the flames.
The fire was brought under control without any reported injuries, the department said.
